Is a wife considered disobedient (nashiz) if she leaves her husband's home and refuses to return, refrains from speaking to him, acts without his permission, buys a car without his knowledge, and insists on working despite it causing her to neglect her husband's rights, knowing that she is seeking a divorce, verbally abuses her husband, and tarnishes his image in front of her family? Does she deserve financial support (nafaqah) in this case? And is it permissible for her to leave her family's home without her husband's permission or consent?

A wife must obey her husband in what is right. Therefore, it is not permissible for her to disobey him regarding wearing the legal hijab (head covering). Her refusal to return to her home without a valid excuse is considered insubordination (nushooz), which forfeits her right to financial support (nafaqah). The financial support for a daughter is obligatory upon the father as long as she is entitled to it. It is not permissible for a woman to work outside the home without her husband's permission, unless this was stipulated in the marriage contract, or if the husband is in financial hardship and unable to provide for her. If he permits her to work, what she earns is her right to dispose of in a lawful manner. If the swimming pool involves শরعي violations, such as the exposure of 'awrah (parts of the body that must be covered), then it is not permissible for the husband to allow her to go there, and he must prevent her. However, if it is free from violations, then permission may be granted, but he has the right to prevent her, and she must obey him. If the wife requests a divorce without a valid reason, the husband has the right to refuse divorcing her until she waives some or all of his rights.
