What is the ruling of Islamic law on water diviners who use olive branches or nails and other implements in their work?

If prospecting with the aforementioned methods is based on empirical science, then there is no harm in it. However, if it is the act of a charlatan, then it is forbidden. The methods cannot be classified due to not knowing the situation of the prospector and the tools.
