Would what my brothers said, as a joke, that the Qiblah they were praying towards before I left was not correct, be considered mockery of the rituals of Allah and lead them to disbelief?

This word is not considered mockery of religious rituals. Perhaps those who say it intend that they have revolutionized their previous errors. They should be cautioned against using such ambiguous phrases.
