Does the worshipper follow the imam only in the movements of the prayer, without uttering anything from the beginning of the prayer until its end?

The worshipper (ma'mum) in prayer performs the prescribed utterances and actions. He says the opening takbir (takbirat al-ihram), then recites the opening supplication (du'a al-istiftah), and reads Al-Fatiha behind the Imam. He says the takbir for bowing (ruku') and recites the prescribed invocations. When the Imam says: "Samia Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praise Him)," the worshipper says: "Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (Our Lord, and to You be all praise)." Then he says the takbir for prostration (sujud), recites the prescribed invocations, and makes abundant supplications. He continues in this manner for the remaining cycles (rak'at). Every Muslim must learn the individual obligations (fard al-ayn).
