Is it permissible to use black henna for the head to conceal the color of ordinary red henna, and not to conceal gray hair?

It is authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he forbade the use of black dye for hair, while commanding the changing of gray hair with any color other than black. Therefore, henna should not be used if it gives a black color to the hair.
