Is the punishment for taking off the hijab greater than for not wearing it?

A Muslim woman's removal of her hijab in front of non-mahram men or outside her home is considered a sin and a violation of Islamic law, warranting Allah's wrath and punishment, as Allah Almighty says: "And let those who oppose His command beware, lest fitnah strike them or there befall them a painful punishment," and "And do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance," and "O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments." And the sin of one who knows the ruling of the hijab yet deliberately removes it is greater than that of one who is ignorant of its ruling.
