What is the ruling on a Muslim woman who calls upon other Muslim women to remove their hijab, or to wear a fashionable hijab that does not meet the conditions of a proper hijab, out of fear that she might feel alienated among Muslim women who adhere to the proper hijab?
This behavior is abhorrent and resembles the state of the hypocrites who enjoin evil and forbid good. It would have been more befitting for her to repent and adhere to modesty and the to save herself from Hellfire, for the hijab is an obligation. This act is an invitation to temptation, immodesty, and the spread of indecency, for Allah the Almighty says: "Indeed, those who like that indecency should be spread among those who have believed will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter." It was reported from Uthman ibn Affan that a female fornicator wishes that all women would commit fornication. One should avoid this type of woman who calls to what contradicts the Sacred Law, for Allah calls to Paradise and forgiveness, while these call to the Fire. And the lawful dress has its regulations.
