Is it permissible for a Muslim woman not to wear the correct hijab that fulfills the Islamic legal conditions, and instead wear a fashionable hijab or remove it completely, for fear of being accused of following extremist Wahhabism?

The hijab is obligatory for a woman in front of non-mahram men. It is not permissible to be lenient with Allah's obligations to please creatures or out of fear of their blame. Rather, a Muslim woman should be proud of her religion and uphold the command of her Lord. For whoever seeks Allah's pleasure, even if it displeases people, Allah will suffice him against the burden of people. And whoever seeks people's pleasure, even if it displeases Allah, Allah will entrust him to the people.
