Is it permissible to use the verse: "And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot" in a ruqyah for "undoing the magic of repelling suitors" or "facilitating marriage," knowing that sorcerers use it to attract men, and that the word "rijalan" (men) in the verse does not mean males, and does this usage lead to a misunderstanding of the verse and resemble the actions of sorcerers, and is it preferable to ward off evils rather than attract benefits in this case?

The Holy Quran is a healing for all ailments, both of the heart and of the body. Reciting it (ruqyah (definition)) and asking Allah through it are prescribed, as Allah Almighty says: "And We send down from the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers" (17:82), and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Recite the Quran and ask Allah through it." Among the best Surahs for ruqyah are Al-Fatihah, Ayat al-Kursi, Al-Ikhlas (definition), and Al-Mu'awwidhatayn (Al-Falaq and An-Nas), due to what has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, specifically designating them for this purpose. The Quran must be glorified and held in high esteem, and it should not be written in places that may disrespect its sanctity.
