What is the ruling regarding a wife divorcing herself (khulʿ) without informing her husband, when her waiting period (ʿiddah) has expired and they are living together, and does she bear a sin for that?

A woman is not permitted to seek divorce or khul’ unless there is a valid reason, due to the prohibition of the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding this. Khul’ is the separation of a husband from his wife in exchange for financial compensation. If the khul’ is validly executed by the judge, the wife is not permissible for her husband, and she must separate from him immediately; otherwise, she is sinful. The husband is excused if he was unaware of the khul’, and he cannot take his wife back except through a new marriage contract if this khul’ was the first or second divorce, or if the court ruled it to be a فسخ (annulment/dissolution).
