What is the meaning of the Prophetic Hadith: "Whoever claims descent from other than his father, while knowing, then Paradise is forbidden for him"?

The meaning of the Hadith is that whoever claims lineage to a person, knowing that he is not his real father, then Paradise is forbidden for him. This prohibition has two interpretations: either the claim is made with knowledge of its prohibition and an act of deeming it permissible, or the act itself merits the prohibition of Paradise for him. He may be punished by being temporarily prevented from entering it, then he will enter it, or Allah may forgive him. This warning specifically applies to a Muslim who dies before repenting from such a claim. As for a disbeliever, his sin is greater.
