Is it necessary to stop the phenomenon of people claiming lineage to other people and tribes without proof, and to remind them of the Farewell Sermon Hadith: "He who claims to belong to other than his father, or pledges allegiance to other than his master, upon him be the curse of Allah, the angels, the messengers, and all mankind; Allah will not accept from him any obligatory or voluntary act"? What a person does by attributing himself to a tribe other than his own is forbidden, because it involves ingratitude for blessings, squandering rights of inheritance, allegiance, and blood money, and severing kinship ties and disobedience to parents. A Muslim must correct this and clarify the sin involved. However, if a person has held his lineage for a long time and has had children, it is not permissible to deny his lineage.
