Did some Companions accuse Abu Hurairah of lying or not rely on his narrations?

Dr. Mustafa Al-Siba'i answered that Abu Hurairah was prolific in narrating Hadith due to his late conversion to Islam, his constant companionship with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and his eagerness to absorb all his news. He also deemed it obligatory upon himself to convey what he had memorized for fear of concealing knowledge.

Furthermore, the abundance of his narrations surprised some of the Tabi'in (followers), so Abu Hurairah explained to them the reasons mentioned, and they accepted and submitted.

Abu Hurairah explained the reason for his strong memory and his prolific narration of Hadith by stating that he accompanied the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, due to his poverty. He once spread out his cloak when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever spreads out his cloak until I finish my speech, then gathers it, will never forget anything he hears from me." So, by Him who sent him with the truth, he never forgot anything he heard from him.
