Is the expiation for an oath (kaffarat al-nadhr) waived if one is obligated to give a vowed percentage of profits, especially with the improvement of one's financial situation after its deterioration, and is there sin upon the one who made the vow if the purpose of the vow was to increase wealth and give charity?
A Muslim must fulfill a vow he has made in the manner he vowed it, as Allah Almighty says: "And let them fulfill their vows" (22:29), and He Almighty says: "They fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread" (76:7). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him."
It is not permissible to retract a vow or to substitute it with an expiation for an oath.
