Is naming a volunteer team to help animals "Al-Rahimoon" (The Merciful Ones) permissible, or is it a تزكية (self-praise/attestation of piety)?

It is permissible to name a work team "Al-Rahimoon (The Merciful)" if self-praise is not intended. It has been narrated in the Hadith: "The merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One in the heavens will have mercy upon you."
