And is slaughter by merely pricking, without ensuring the cutting of the throat, esophagus, and jugular veins, permissible? And is it permissible to delay prayer beyond its prescribed time due to work circumstances?

For slaughtering to be valid, it is required to cut the trachea, the esophagus, and the two jugular veins between them. However, scholars have differed regarding the parts that are sufficient to cut.

Therefore, exposing chickens to an electric shock that causes doubt about the rooster's life after the shock makes their consumption unlawful, because the default ruling is prohibition when there is doubt about the stability of life in the slaughtered animal.

Furthermore, merely pricking the rooster without ensuring the cutting of the trachea, esophagus, and jugular veins renders the slaughtered animal unlawful. The default ruling for a slaughtered animal is that it is not Islamically slaughtered until it is certain that it has been.

Consequently, what the questioner is doing is not considered valid Islamic slaughtering, and it is not permissible for him to continue in this profession, nor is it permissible for him to delay prayer beyond its prescribed time.
