What are the legal rights of the wife and two daughters should they seek separation from the husband, who refuses to provide maintenance and mistreats them, especially given that there is a deferred dower (mu'akhar sadaq), the furniture is shared equally between the spouses, the appliances belong to the husband, and there is no dowry list?

A husband must treat his wife kindly and provide for her and their children with sufficient food, housing, and clothing. If the husband refuses to provide the obligatory maintenance, the wife may take from his money, without his knowledge, what suffices her, or she may refer the matter to the judge to compel him to provide maintenance or to separate them. If the judge divorces the husband, the wife is entitled to her full mahr (dowry) and all rights of a divorced woman. However, if his harm is not proven and the wife wishes to separate from him, she may seek khul' (divorce at the wife's instance) in exchange for forfeiting a part of her mahr.
