Is it forbidden for the husband to return to his wife's house after he said: "Your house is forbidden to me if I enter it a second time or sit in it"?

A husband's statement: "My house is forbidden to me, or entering it, or sitting in it," is a prohibition of something lawful. And whoever forbids something lawful for himself must offer an expiation for an oath if he breaks it. This is the preponderant opinion, based on the words of the Almighty: "O Prophet, why do you prohibit what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. Allah has already ordained for you [the way of] absolution from your oaths. And Allah is your Protector, and He is the Knowing, the Wise."
