Scholars have differed regarding the names of the Surahs of the Qur’an, whether they are divinely ordained (Tawqifiyyah) or not. The more preponderant opinion is that they are divinely ordained. Therefore, it is preferable not to invent new names for the Surahs of the Qur’an.
