Is it permissible for non-Muslims responsible for burial to carry and bury Muslims after Muslims have performed the ritual washing (ghusl) and funeral prayer (salat al-janazah) for the deceased?

It is permissible to seek assistance from a disbeliever for digging graves and carrying the deceased when there is a need. However, one should not seek their assistance in burying the deceased and placing them in their grave, because it is an act of worship, and a disbeliever is not among those qualified for it. Among what is prescribed for the deceased when placed in the grave is to orient them towards the Qiblah and say: "In the name of Allah, and upon the creed of the Messenger of Allah." It is also preferable that the carrying of the deceased and the digging of their grave not be left to disbelievers; rather, needy Muslims should be hired for that.
