What is the ruling on celebrating the Third Millennium and participating with those who celebrate it?

A Muslim must praise Allah and ask Him for steadfastness upon Islam, and know that disbelievers strive to distance Muslims from their religion. Celebrating the third millennium is falsehood that a believer must avoid, as it is not one of the holidays of Muslims. The Salaf interpreted falsehood as the holidays of disbelievers. Allah has replaced for Muslims the two Eids: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. It is not permissible to glorify what disbelievers glorify, as celebrating this millennium involves imitating them and breaking the barrier of aversion towards them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them." Therefore, it is not permissible for a Muslim to participate in celebrating the third millennium or to offer congratulations for it.
