What is the ruling on celebrating the third millennium and participating in its festivities?

A Muslim must praise Allah for the blessing of Islam and ask Him for steadfastness, and know that the disbelieving nations strive to turn him away from his religion. Celebrating the third millennium is a falsehood that must be avoided, as it is not one of the holidays of Muslims. The Salaf interpreted "falsehood" (al-zur) as the holidays of the disbelievers. Allah has replaced the holidays of Jahiliyyah for Muslims with Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. It is not permissible for a Muslim to glorify a day or place glorified by disbelievers, or to participate in their holidays. Celebrating the third millennium has connotations for disbelievers related to their distorted beliefs, and it involves imitation of the People of the Book. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them." Therefore, it is not permissible for a Muslim to participate in this celebration or to congratulate on it.
