What is the ruling on installing golden teeth?

Gold teeth are not permissible for men except out of necessity, because gold is forbidden for them. As for women, they are permitted to have them for adornment if it is customary and not extravagant, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Gold and silk have been made lawful for the females of my Ummah." If a person dies and has a gold tooth, it should be removed unless there is a fear of tearing the gums, because gold is an inheritable asset.
