What are the verses that guide and teach us how to deal with disbelievers and invite them to Islam, and what is their interpretation?

Islam has laid down general principles for Da'wah (calling to Islam) and methods of guiding to it, leaving people to choose the means as long as they do not contradict these principles. The most important of these are:

1. Calling with wisdom and good admonition, as in the Almighty's saying: (Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction).

2. Debating in the best manner, as in the Almighty's saying: (And argue with them in a way that is best).

3. Patience in the face of harm, as in the Almighty's saying: (And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance).

4. Using beneficial means that make them desire Islam, provided they do not contradict Islamic law, for the end does not justify the means.

5. Not despairing of their belief, and supplicating for their guidance, for this was the methodology of the prophets.

6. Arming oneself with religious knowledge to refute their doubts.

7. Islam should be evident in the caller's conduct and dealings, for religion is about interaction.
