What are the causes of the spread of sorcery in society, and what are the methods for treating someone afflicted by sorcery without using the Quran and supplication?

Sorcery is one of the gravest sins, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) counted it among the seven destructive sins. Its practitioner may become a disbeliever. Despite the many and serious harms of sorcery, many people engage in it due to weak faith, envy, malicious souls, and lack of trust in Allah. As for the treatment of possession, there is no treatment more effective or beneficial than the Quran and the authentic supplications, whether by reciting upon the patient, or reciting upon water, oil, or honey and using it for drinking and washing. There may be other lawful and unlawful methods, such as beating and starving, but their use alongside recitation is more effective in some stubborn cases.
