What is the ruling on resistance training for women, and is it permissible in whole or in part, or not permissible at all, despite its health benefits?

Resistance exercises are exercises that rely on the contraction and relaxation of muscles to increase their strength, size, and endurance. It is permissible for a woman to practice them under the following conditions:

1. The place must be safe, where no men can see her, and the woman must cover her body completely, in a way that neither describes nor reveals.

2. She must cover her 'awrah (intimate parts) from other women (which is from the navel to the knee).

3. The exercises must not cause her harm.

4. They must not distract her from her religious duties or family rights.

It is permissible to practice pull-ups, push-ups, squats, planks, weightlifting, and rope skipping, provided that the controls are observed and no harm results. Sheikh Ibn Baz issued a fatwa permitting sports specifically for women in a secluded place, away from mixing with men.
