Must a Muslim know the conditions of "Lā ʾIlāha ʾIllā Allāh" (There is no god but Allah), and is one who does not know them considered a disbeliever?

The word of Tawhid (monotheism) will benefit its pronouncer in the Hereafter if he understands its meaning and acts upon its implications, inwardly and outwardly. The aim is not to memorize the wordings of its conditions, but rather for them to be present in the servant and for him to adhere to them, even if he is an unlettered person who does not memorize them. In general, a Muslim must know that acting upon the implications of the word of Tawhid is what is required, and that knowing the details of its conditions is a collective obligation (fard kifaya). The Muslim community must have individuals who know these conditions and teach them to others.
