What is the ruling on the prayer of someone who works in poultry slaughter and whose clothes are soiled? Is it permissible for him to make up the prayer after finishing work and changing his clothes?
Whoever, by the nature of their work, is afflicted with impurity, should designate a special, pure garment for prayer. If this is not possible and impurity often reaches their garment, it is permissible for them to pray in it, and the impurity is excused to avoid hardship. This is the view of the Maliki and Hanafi schools. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah holds that a small amount of blood is excused, but a large amount of blood is not excused based on the fundamental principle. Purity from impurity is a condition for the validity of prayer, so one should strive to pray in a pure garment. If this is not possible, one may adopt the view of the Maliki and Hanafi schools.
