Is the merchant who shares profits with the shop owner obligated to share with him the gifts he receives from suppliers?

The question comprised two matters: The first pertains to the Mudarabah (profit-sharing partnership) between the questioner and the shop owner. If the Mudarabah is based on cash, then there is no harm in it. However, if it is based on goods, then according to the majority of scholars, it is necessary to convert them into cash before the contract. It was permissible according to Imam Ahmad and Malik by valuing the goods. The second relates to the gifts the questioner receives from sellers. If the gifts are for the shop, they must be divided with the partner. If they are personal to the questioner, then they are for him alone.
