Does divorce occur if the wife brings rabbits into the house after the husband says: "Yes, if they come, it entails divorce"?

The phrase "If she comes, it means divorce" is not a pronouncement of divorce, but rather a promise and a threat of it. Therefore, divorce does not occur upon bringing the rabbits, because divorce does not take effect merely by promising it, and there is no obligation to fulfill this promise. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said: "A promise of divorce does not take effect, no matter how many times it is uttered, and there is no obligation to fulfill this promise, nor is it even recommended."
