Is it legislated to perform the prostration of recitation (Sajdat al-Tilawah) communally, where one person says the takbir and everyone prostrates, and then he says the takbir and they rise, or should each individual prostrate alone?

The prostration of recitation (Sujud At-Tilawah) is recommended for both the reciter and the listener if the reciter prostrates. There is no dependency between their prostrations; each has their own specific prostration. It is also said that it is permissible for the listener to follow the reciter. Some jurists have deemed it preferable for the reciter to be in front of the listeners, for them to line up behind him, and not to rise before him.
