What is the ruling on saying that religion is difficult?

Considering religious obligations burdensome is an error and contradicts the sacred texts which emphasize the ease of the religion and the removal of hardship. Allah Almighty did not impose acts of worship for His own benefit, but for the welfare of His servants. A servant must strive against his own self to perform duties with a willing heart, and considering some obligations burdensome does not negate the foundation of faith.
