Is the pilgrim obligated to sacrifice an offering during Hajj and in his home country?

There are three types of Hajj: Ifraad, Tamattu’, and Qiran. Ifraad is performing Hajj only, and offering a sacrifice (Hady) is not obligatory, though it is recommended. As for Tamattu’ and Qiran, sacrificing a Hady is obligatory in both; it is a blood sacrifice of gratitude. The Hady is an animal from the An'am (livestock) that the pilgrim offers to the Sacred House. It is slaughtered on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm an-Nahr). None of the pilgrims should slaughter in their home country; rather, the slaughter must take place in Makkah or Mina.
