I would like to inquire about the role of zakat in purifying the soul and wealth?

Legally, zakat is the prescribed share of wealth designated for eligible recipients. Linguistically, it signifies blessing, growth, and purity. It purifies wealth and increases it, and it purifies the giver from sins; as Allah the Almighty says: "Take, [O Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase."
