Summarily, feeding consists of giving ownership to a poor person or a needy person of one mudd of the staple food of the people of the land, such as wheat or dates. The size of the mudd is explained in Fatwa no. 35622. The poor person has the right to eat what he owns, or sell it, or donate it. As for the price of the mudd, it varies according to the location, and can be determined by asking vendors.
