How much is the expiation for feeding ten needy people in Egyptian pounds?

The expiation for an oath is to feed ten poor persons with the average food one feeds his family, or to clothe them. Jurists have differed in estimating its measure between a Mudd of food (approximately 750 grams of rice) or half a Sa' of other than wheat (approximately 1.5 kilograms). It is more prudent to give this obligatory amount of food to the poor and needy. The majority of scholars do not deem it sufficient to give its monetary value, although the Hanafis permit it.
