The answer

It is permissible for a fasting person to taste food out of necessity by placing it on the tip of the tongue and then removing it without swallowing. If one swallows something forgetfully, there is no blame on them, and their fast remains valid, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever forgets while he is fasting and eats or drinks, then let him complete his fast, for it was Allah who fed him and gave him to drink."
