How can it be explained that the man remained standing at the head of his parents all night until dawn, while the children cried out of hunger, without his parents waking up, in the Hadith of the Companions of the Cave?

A Muslim must submit to and believe in what has been authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He informed that the children were crying out, but the parents did not wake up. This is conceivable both rationally and customarily; their sleep might have been deep, or they might have suffered from impaired hearing. His statement "they were crying out" does not mean they cried continuously throughout the night. Some commentators described this action as outwardly improper, due to not giving the children milk while they were hungry, even though the intention might have been good.
