Is a wife considered disobedient (nashiz) if she leaves to study Islamic sciences without her husband's permission, and how should the husband treat her?

Compatibility between spouses is fundamental to strengthening the marital relationship. A female student of Islamic knowledge understands that obedience to her husband in what is good is obligatory, and it is not permissible for her to leave the house except out of necessity or urgent need. Therefore, she must use wisdom with her husband and show affection to him so that he may permit her to study, and she should remind him of the reward [for doing so]. If the husband insists on preventing her, it is not permissible for her to leave, and she must continue seeking knowledge at home. The husband is obligated to teach his wife the obligatory knowledge (fard al-ayn), and if he cannot, he should permit her to learn from others. As for knowledge beyond fard al-ayn, he is not obligated to teach it to her, and he has the right to prevent her from leaving to seek it. If she insists, she is considered disobedient (nashiz).
