What should I do about my parents and brother who commit acts of shirk, such as sorcery and dealing with charlatans, and justify this by saying that I do not believe in sorcery and such practices, and that they are following a "covenant" with certain shaykhs, even though my father prays and reads the Quran?

We advise you to fear Allah, observe the obligatory duties, and supplicate frequently during times when prayers are answered. Treat magic with ruqya ash-shar'iyya (Islamic incantation for healing) and fortify yourself with Surat Al-Baqara and the morning and evening remembrances. Magic is forbidden, and whoever practices it, requests its practice, or believes a magician has committed a sin. One must be kind to parents even if they are disbelievers and try to mislead their children. Strive for their guidance through supplication, advice, wisdom, and gentleness. It is not permissible to accuse anyone of magic without proof. Obedience to parents is not obligatory in acts of disobedience to the Creator, such as attending gatherings of innovators that involve shirk (polytheism) or anything stemming from the foolishness or ignorance of the parent.
