What is the ruling on using the symbol of the the cross to indicate supplication, which is the clasped hands after supplication, and is that considered imitation of disbelievers?

The posture of raising cupped hands, not with their palms facing the sky, is a polytheistic scriptural posture specific to Christians and some polytheists. Imitating disbelievers in their postures and symbols is forbidden, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them." Islam commands the Muslim to follow what is better, which is to say "Ameen" and to pray for the one who supplicates with a similar prayer.
