Is the presence of drawings of unknown persons or people on the exterior wall of a house forbidden (haram), and does this prevent angels from entering the house?
Prophetic traditions emphasize the prohibition of image-making and the severe warning against it, stating that angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image, and that the image-maker will be commanded on the Day of Resurrection to breathe spirit into the image, yet he will not be able to do so. It is obligatory to dispose of prohibited images of living beings. The presence of drawings outside the house may not prevent angels from entering, but it leads to becoming accustomed to them. Writing Quranic verses is permissible to remind the household of the Quran, provided they are protected from disrespect. Reciting Surat Al-Baqarah expels Satan.
