The daughter must be prevented from continuing the illicit relationship with the young man by clarifying to her the Shar'i ruling that this relationship is impermissible. If the young man is serious, the relationship can be transformed into a legitimate marriage, provided he is willing and suitable. Otherwise, there is no point in continuing this relationship, because "Satan is the third of two."
