Is poverty better or wealth? May Allah reward you.

It is not correct to claim that wealth is absolutely better than poverty, or vice versa; rather, it varies from person to person. Poverty may be better for some, and wealth better for others, or they may be equal. Ibn Taymiyyah said that poverty and wealth are two conditions that befall a servant, and it is not permissible to prefer one absolutely over the other. Al-Baghawi narrated a hadith indicating that Allah manages His servants in a way that benefits them. Some are only reformed by wealth, some by poverty, and some by health or illness.
