Is the amount awarded by the civil court lawful or unlawful? Is it permissible to donate from it to the poor? And is it permissible to pay the lawyer's fees from it?

The heirs are only entitled to the blood money (diyyah), and if it has been ruled in their favor, nothing else may be demanded. The money ruled by the civil court may not be taken, nor may it be given to the poor or the sick; rather, it must be returned to its owner. As for the lawyer, if he knew of the prohibition, he is not entitled to a fee. If he did not know, he is entitled to a customary fee (ujrat al-mithl), which should be paid to him by the one who commissioned him.
