Are there any Hadiths that prohibit visiting places whose people wronged themselves, such as the Dead Sea and Mada'in Saleh?

It is authentically reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade Muslims from entering and passing through places of torment, unless they were weeping and humbled. This was because when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions passed by the dwellings of Thamud (Al-Hijr) on their way to Tabuk, he said: "Do not enter upon these tormented people except if you are weeping. If you are not weeping, then do not enter upon them, lest what befell them should befall you." He also commanded them to discard the dough and spill the water from that land, except for the water from the she-camel's well. The reason for this prohibition is that weeping prompts reflection and contemplation of the state of those who were tormented, and an awareness of the insecurity from an evil outcome. And whoever does not reflect resembles them in negligence and hardness of heart.
