The evidence for the permissibility of giving a gift to a fiancée and others is the general saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Give gifts, for indeed a gift removes ill-feelings from the chest." And in another narration: "you will increase in love." Islam strives to increase love and harmony among Muslims, and this is especially true for spouses or those who are on the path to marriage.
