What is the Sharīʿah ruling on a man who deflowers a woman who is unlawful to him?

The purpose of the previous answer was not to absolve the fornicating man of the responsibility for fornication and breaking the hymen. The questioner was referred to fatwas indicating that he incurs a great sin. The questioner (female) and the man, since they are both adult and sane, must repent to Allah Almighty and regret what has passed. There is no religious impediment to their marriage if their repentance is sincere. If what happened to the female questioner occurred while she was not sane, or if it was rape, then she is entitled to the customary dower (Mahr al-Mithl) of previously married women, along with compensation for the broken hymen (Arsh al-Bakara). The man is advised to fear Allah Almighty and not tamper with people's honor. There is no religious impediment for him to rectify the wrong after his repentance and her repentance, and to propose marriage to the girl.
