Is it permissible for an employee who suffers from flatulence and whose restroom is far away to read the Quran without performing ablution (wudu')?

The correct view is that it is not permissible to touch the Mushaf (copy of the Qur'an) except for one who is in a state of ritual purity, due to Allah's saying: ﴿None touch it except the purified.﴾ [Al-Waqi'ah: 79], and due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "None should touch the Qur'an except one who is pure." You must be in a state of purity to touch the Mushaf. If this is difficult for you, then recite the Qur'an from memory without touching it, and occupy yourself with adhkar (remembrances), du'a (supplications), and sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). For reciting the Qur'an from memory does not require ritual purity.
