How can the problem of a husband who is observant of his religion and a memorizer of the Qur’an, yet watches pornographic channels, be solved, given that this has negatively affected his marital relationship?

Forbidden glances are a great tribulation with negative effects on one's religion and character, for a glance generates lust and an inclination towards disobedience. Lowering the gaze is an act of compliance with God's command and a purification of the heart. It rewards its practitioner with the sweetness of faith and frees him from the captivity of lust. One must seek help from God and be mindful of Him, and strive against the self to lower the gaze. Disobedience deprives one of knowledge and sustenance, causes loneliness and darkness in the heart, and weakens one's will to repent. Whoever is afflicted by this should turn to God in supplication and avert their gaze from what is forbidden. They should also know that God might seize their soul while they are in the midst of this disobedience.
